Amanda & Lindsey
When Amanda and Lindsey met in the winter of 2013, an instant friendship sparked. Their love for writing, storytelling, and entrepreneurship united them. Together, they set out on a mission to help uncover stories from marginalized and unheard voices, birthing One Idea Press in the spring of 2014. As a team, Amanda and Lindsey have coached thousands of authors, have written and published nine books of their own, have taken on authors from all walks of life for representation under the press, continue to run numerous innovative writing workshops, and host one of the largest and most exciting annual writer's conferences around--Pitch, Publish, & Promote.
Amanda is an internationally recognized editor, writer, and book coach. She is also the author of Blue Rooms, which was adapted for the stage and produced in 2018. An award-winning writer herself, Amanda has done it all from freelance to copyediting to content editing to ghostwriting and book coaching, and as Editor-in-Chief for One Idea Press, she helps authors realize their true voice. Amanda is also the host of Write to Heal workshops, where she helps people connect and heal through the power of storytelling. Before becoming a professional writer, Amanda worked in the mental healthcare system for ten years, teaching adolescent survivors of trauma how to take control of their narrative. Amanda continues this work through her writing, workshops, and as a publisher.
Lindsey Smith, known as the Food Mood Girl, is a nationally recognized author, health coach, and dynamic speaker. She has written numerous books including Food Guilt No More, Hear Me Roar, and Junk Foods & Junk Moods. Her latest release, Eat Your Feelings, was published under St. Martin's Press in January 2018.
